UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE

Bible for beginners

Bible for beginners: where to start, how to read and listen, and which chapters suit a first read.

The Bible is large – which is why a simple plan helps. Here are five steps for a calm start.

1. Do not start at the front

The Gospel of Mark is the shortest Gospel (16 chapters); John is especially personal. Both work well as a first book.

2. One chapter a day

A chapter takes only a few minutes to read or listen to. Consistency matters more than volume.

3. Combine reading and listening

With the audio Bible you can listen on the go and read along later. The moving verse highlight helps.

4. Use topics

If you have a specific question, the topics offer matching verses – for example on hope, peace or fear.

5. Take notes

In the app you can highlight verses and write notes – no account needed, right on your device.
